Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site

In 2021, the National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Commerce issued the “Opinions on Supporting the Construction of Hainan Free Trade Port and Relaxing Market Access,” which includes optimizing the market access environment for Hainan’s commercial space sector. Wenchang City, with its low latitude, convenient sea transportation, and safe landing area advantages, was chosen as the site for China’s first commercial space launch site.

2021年，國家發展改革委和商務部發佈了《關於支持海南自由貿易港建設放寬市場準入若干特別措施的意見》，其中包括優化海南商業航天領域的市場準入環境。文昌市因其低緯度、便捷的海運和安全的落區優勢，成為中國首個商業航天發射場的選址地。

Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site

Currently, both the Hainan Commercial Launch Site’s Launch Pad 1 and Launch Pad 2 have been completed and are undergoing pre-launch rehearsals. Launch Pad 2 is the country’s first liquid universal launch pad, capable of accommodating the launch needs of 19 different types of rockets from various companies, with integrated communication during the rocket design phase.

目前，海南商發一號和二號發射工位均已竣工，正在進行發射前的合練。二號發射工位是國內首個液體通用型發射工位，能兼容不同直徑、構型和火箭公司的19種型號火箭的發射需求。這一設計在火箭的設計階段就與火箭公司進行了集成化的溝通。

Launch Pad 2 is undergoing an empty load vertical test, marking a critical milestone in its launch capability. Launch Pad 1 is testing the water spray cooling and noise reduction system, simulating the coordination between the rocket ignition signal and the water spray system to reduce temperature and noise during rocket ignition.

The Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site plans to conduct its first launch in the second half of this year. Currently, all departments are continuously improving launch capabilities through rehearsals to ensure a successful official launch.

二號發射工位正在進行空載起豎試驗，這標誌著其具備發射能力的關鍵節點。一號發射工位則正在測試噴水降溫降噪系統，這項試驗模擬火箭點火信號與噴水系統的協同工作，旨在降低火箭點火時的溫度和噪音。

海南商業航天發射場計劃在今年下半年進行首發，現階段各部門正在通過合練不斷完善發射能力，確保正式發射時能夠取得圓滿成功。

At 20:25 on August 22, 2024, our country successfully launched the Zhongxing 4A satellite into space using the Long March 7A carrier rocket from the Wenchang Space Launch Site. The satellite successfully entered its predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success.

在2024年8月22日20時25分，我國在文昌航天發射場使用長征七號改運載火箭成功將中星4A衛星發射升空，並順利進入預定軌道，發射任務圓滿成功。

At one of the best rocket viewing spots in Hainan Wenchang, the Wenchang Aerospace Science Center hosted a rocket launch carnival themed “Chasing Dreams, Celebrating China.” This event attracted thousands of visitors from both within and outside the province, who gathered to witness the power and allure of China’s aerospace technology and to celebrate the remarkable achievements of China’s space endeavors. Additionally, the event brought new vitality to the development of Wenchang’s aerospace sector and the local economy.
